Help keep our main thoroughfare clean and welcoming! Join us in February, April, July, and November to pick up litter, beautify the landscape, and make a positive impact on our community. We provide safety vests, orange trash bags, and litter trash grabbers.

Join us in keeping Sterling Boulevard and its welcome areas looking their best! Volunteers assist with trimming trees, pruning bushes, general landscape maintenance, and cleaning up around the "Welcome to Sterling" signs. Your efforts will help keep our main street and entrances tidy, welcoming, and beautiful for all who visit and live here.

Join us for a hands-on day of community service at the annual Stream Cleanup! Volunteers of all ages come together to remove trash and debris from local streams and waterways, helping protect wildlife, improve water quality, and support the Chesapeake Bay watershed. It’s a great opportunity to make a visible difference in our environment, connect with neighbors, and give back to the Sterling community.

We’re proud of our on-going efforts to ensure Sterling shines bright. In addition to our work on Sterling Blvd, we also run regular stream clean-up days maintaining our local waterways. Make sure you visit the Helen Casey Memorial Butterfly Garden, which helps to enrich our environment and bring beauty to our community. Together we can contribute to Sterling’s heritage by cleaning, maintaining, and beautifying!

The Sterling Foundation has been awarding annual scholarships to local Sterling high school students. We recognize that pride in our students is a key part of celebrating Sterling’s identity. As an organization that values our volunteers and commitment to our community, a major component for selection of awards will be based on each student’s volunteer work.
